    Very Good Plastic Pliers

Posted by Al on Jul 10th 2020

These are very good, solid plastic pliers which should not conduct any electricity. Overall, the size is very good, and the plastic appears sturdy for simple light pulling and pushing. Make no mistake, this will not replace a metal pair of insulated pliers. This is something to use if you are working with live wires, or needs a delicate touch/application.

What can I say? Knipex is always super quality and worth the money. Th pliers were a bit larger than what I expected but for me that was a plus!

    Excellent Pliers

Posted by Richard on Feb 18th 2016

I have used Snap-on insulating needle nose pliers (C97CP) at a previous job. I found these Knipex 98-62-02 pliers @ kctool.com for less than half the price Snap-on wants for their pliers. The fit and finish of the Knipex pliers is just as good if not better than Snap-on.The Knipex pliers are ~1/2" longer. The handles on the Knipex pliers are better having soft plastic zone for better grip. The Snap-on pliers handles are large and chunky feeling. These Knipex pliers just fit better in my hand while wearing rubber/leather gloves required for live work. The Knipex pliers do not spring open like the Snap-on's spring loaded joint. The serrations on the jaws of the Knipex pliers are not as big as the teeth on the Snap-on jaws. I doubt it will be a problem as I had no trouble holding/griping a #12 wire while changing a breaker. Is paying over twice as much just for a spring loaded joint and deeper serrations is worth it? If you need insulated pliers get the Knipex and save some money.

This plier is well made and is stronger than what I thought. It is larger than I expected, but that will not be a problem. I am very cautious working around electrical components but have had a few scares and jolts because I sometimes have to work around live circuits and accidents happen; these are one more step in right direction of safety. Thank you KC tool for making these available at a very unbeatable price
