    convenient and well made

I bought this specifically because it is non magnetic as well as ESD. I have used this with C6 and E6 bits, and even a short bit holder (the kind that comes with BitChecks). There is a bit of fore-aft play between the bit chuck and the actual handle, but it's not functionally significant. With C6 bits there is no play between the bit and the chuck. With E6 bits there is a bit of fore-aft play between the bit and the chuck, due to the divot in the bit shaft -- this has been true with pretty much every clutch type bit holder I have used, and is not a specific defect of this tool. For me the handle size is at the smaller end of comfort when using the narrowest part of the handle and a 3 finger 'standard' grip. It fits betteer for a vertical "precision driver" type grip with thumb opposite fingers. I use size 8 1/2 surgical gloves and am at the upper end of M on most gloves. YMMV. In comparison, the Hazet short (magnetic and friction clutch) bit holder feels a bit more comfortable, but is not ESD safe and is magnetic. I use and like both. I don't think the Wera proprietary handle shape is a big help ergonomically, and it does impose a bit of restraint on grip position comfort, but it fits me acceptably. The larger size Wera grips are a better fit for me, ( I have their nut drivers) but I wanted this smaller size specifically as an alternative to "precision" type drivers with my collection of C6 and E6 bits, to avoid having to buy a collection of ESD drivers. It works fine for that.

    My new go-to screwdriver.

Feels amazing in my hand, I'm 6' tall and have big hands. Small drivers often fatigue my hands in use. I now just reach for this one, for nearly everything, because it's ergonomics are just right for a wide array of tasks. Use it for electronics with small drivers (yay ESD!), but also commonly find myself driving bolts ball hex bits, and even use it for large flat-head wood screws. Drove a few dozen nuts with a socket head the other day, it just keeps being the tool I grab for. Something this small doesn't allow for much torque to be applied, and I just keep reaching for this- so I've scored a t-handle driver to do final tightening/torque when necessary- a perfect compliment to this thing. This has become such a new favorite: I got another one to stash at home, got one to toss in the car, and got one to give a good friend.

    Impressive, positive locking

I think old AVE and This Old Tony would be proud. Definitely worth the money, especially the money saved on precision driver sets that my boss likes. If this goes missing, someone will be getting the Reservoir Dogs treatment.

Very well built. Same quality as their larger versions. Great for right spots and finesse work.

    Wera esd 813r handle

The perfect combination to the Wiha 75968 micro bit (or any 1/4") driver set or anywhere a smaller version (length/girth) of the Wera 816 would be convenient. Would recommend!

What I've come to expect from Wera

Posted by Joel Mansfield on Nov 10th 2018

Although it's a little smaller than I initially imagined, this is perfect for all those times I'm working on electronics in confined electrical chassis. It holds standard 1/4" bits which makes this tool super useful in the US where it's hard to come by anything else.

Very comfortable ESD safe 1/4" bit handle for when you need to get into tight spaces when working with electronics.
