    Wiha 15-80 inch/ounce torque screwdriver

Posted by John Noveske on Apr 13th 2017

This is my second Wiha TorqueVario screwdriver from KC Tool. The first was the 10-50 inch/pounds range and works like a dream for mounting scopes and other firearm related tasks. I purchased this one with a range of 15-80 inch/ounce for a special assembly project using #2-56 SS screws in aluminum. With a torque spec of 1.5 inch/pounds or 24 inch/ounces, this tool made the production assembly go quick without loosing any product due to stripped screw threads. I used the Wiha System 4 .05" hex bit directly in the adapter that comes with this driver. Perfection.

Great Tool, but Poor Wiha Customer Service

Posted by Dustin on Feb 3rd 2014

This tool works great for when you need to accurately torque small fasteners. But be sure to keep your certificate of calibration. I have 8 of these I have purchased within the last year and one fell apart in my hands while being adjusted. I was unable to get a warranty replacement because I had not kept the certificate of calibration. Neither the packaging nor the Wiha website puts that stipulation on a warranty replacement. Oh, but Wiha will replace your certificate of calibration for $15 even though they "need" the original because they can't look it up for a warranty return...

    Be sure to buy bits

Posted by Don Alexander on Dec 19th 2012

The demo video makes it seem it like the screwdriver includes various bits - apparently it does not, which was annoying because I had to manufacture an adapter to a 1/4" bit in order to do a time sensitive job. I will eventually need to make another order for proper bits, but would have preferred to purchase the bits I need on the original order if there had been a notice that the screwdriver does not include bits as shown in the demo...
